General Info...

You can expect a friendly welcome from Newbury &Thatcham Hockey Club. Our main ground is at Henwick Worthy Sportsfield, Thatcham.

Newbury & Thatcham Hockey Club is the 20th club in the country and one of only two in Berkshire to achieve England Hockey's Clubs 1st Accreditation. Clubs achieving the Clubs 1st award are nationally recognised as working towards providing a safe, effective and child friendly hockey environment. To find out more about Club 1st visit England Hockey, or learn about Clubmark at Sport England

The men's section runs four senior teams and a veteran's side, while the ladies' section runs four teams, and we have a thriving youth & junior section which has been supplying county players for more than 15 years.

Our Club colours are Red, White and Navy Blue:

  • Red shirts with White collar and yoke
  • Navy Blue shorts/skirts
  • Red and White hooped socks
  •

2006 has seen the completion of our new Clubhouse at Henwick, which will be the seen of many social events and will of course also provide match teas and 'liquid refreshment' after games.

Our Hockey Festival is held every May bank holiday and teams from all parts of the British Isles from Guernsey to Scotland (as well as one or two from Europe who have joined in the fun) can be found enjoying some relaxed Hockey washed down by an excess of alcohol.
