Newbury & Thatcham Hockey Club attaches great importance to helping promote youngsters into the sport.
As part of this we have established a Junior Development Committee.
In the past few years the Junior sections has grown phenomenally,
and last season there were more than 100 juniors who regularly attended training.
If you would like to support junior hockey within the club (parent, player, coach, etc),
or would like further information about the Junior section, please contact our Junior Co-ordinator,
Jamie Bairstow.
Newbury & Thatcham Hockey Club were the 20th club in the country and one of the first
in Berkshire to achieve England Hockey's Clubs 1st Accreditation. Clubs achieving the Clubs
1st award are nationally recognised as working towards providing a safe, effective and child
friendly hockey environment.

The Club has a policy of promoting Youth & Junior players throughout the club. Older juniors progress to play in
the senior teams at all levels including the 1st team. There are many opportunities throughout the season to increase
skills and participate in tournaments and other matches and events, including the Thames Valley Youth Games
(in collaboration with West Berks Council).
