Newbury Hockey Festival has been running since 1981 and over the years has attracted teams near and far.
The festival is perfectly situated in the centre of Newbury town centre, just minutes from shops, restaurants and pubs.

Time to break out those platform shoes and flares, as the theme for 2009 is 
The festival schedule is as follows:
Friday – Teams arrive to setup campsite, clubhouse bar open until late.
Saturday – Matches begin 10am and continue until approx. 5:30pm. Teams tend to drift into town, returning for the clubhouse
disco and late-license bar.
Sunday – Matches again run from 10:00-17:00. Exclusive, cartoon-themed, party at local nightclub begins around 7pm.
Hot meal buffet available. Variety acts, live band, and fancy dress awards.
Monday – The Hangover Cup. We divide those with enough energy left into mixed teams, who compete in short matches for the Hangover Cup.
The watching teams can enjoy a cooked breakfast. Festival Awards around midday to wrap up things
for another year.

The festival will once again include mens, ladies and mixed teams with games played across 3 grass pitches.
The matches are always played in great spirits and are never taken too seriously, with each team having at least 3 games per day.

There is a free on-site campsite or local hotels are no more than a 10 minute walk away.

In the past two years approximately £2000 has been raised during the
Festival for Naomi House (a children's hospice in Newbury). The Festival Committee
thank all the organisations, companies and players who have donated money
to this very worthy cause.
